I just came off of the most fabuluos weekend with all the "Girs" or Girls in my family!! We drove to Dallas on Friday and spent the weekend drinking skinny margs, shopping too much, and laughing until our stomachs hurt!! So because of this fabulous weekend, Ben and I will be eating with what we have in our pantry, haha!! (But hey, at least I'll be cooking in my new cute clothes!) Enter potatoes.....Potatoes are such a versatile, filling and CHEAP food to make and although its usually a side dish, we had french fries for dinner on Sunday!! And I'm sure some of you already know how to make the perfect Oven French Fries, but for those of you who don't, here it is! Poor Man's Oven French Fries!!!
Start with the easiest of ingredients.....
This is how I cut my potato to make the perfect French Fries.....cut the potato in half.....
then slice the potato in half down the middle.....
then make cuts long-ways......
And voila! Perfect fries! And don't forget we ate these as our main course for dinner...haha you do not have to make this many......
We may be eating off a $3 sack of potatoes but I will be salting them with my $14 Sea Salt I bought over the weekend at Williams Sonoma...haha priorities right!!? Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle over salt......
And Pepper........
Toss the potatoes and lay in an even layer on a cookie sheet. Put in the oven at 430 degrees for Ten minutes.....
Use this ten minutes to hang up all the new clothes you bought to remind yourself that eating French Fries for dinner is worth it......right??
After ten minutes, use a spatula to turn the potatoes over. Put another ten minutes on your timer. Turn again with spatula, and set your timer for 5 more minutes.
Oven Fries, and since they are a dinner/snack Ben was able to justify eating dinner at his desk.....I'll concede this and go stare at my new clothes alitttle more......Enjoy!
